Dr. Carlos Alana is board certified in neonatal and perinatal medicine. After receiving his medical degree from the Universidad de Montemorelos in Mexico, Dr. Alana completed his pediatric residency at the LSU New Orleans School of Medicine. He then spent two years completing a fellowship in Neonatal/Perinatal medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

Dr. Alana has completed research in several areas including lung development and maturational changes influencing pulmonary function in infants; alternative methods of ventilation and airway management; and, optimization of mechanical ventilation.
