Dr. Hilton Bernstein has been studying and treating neonates for 20 years. In 1988 he was a Neonatal research fellow at Johannesburg Hospital in South Africa. In 2000 he began his pediatric residency at the University of Florida. He completed his neonatology fellowship in 2005. In October 2006, Dr. Bernstein became board certified in neonatology and joined the Center for Neonatal Care.

During his fellowship, Dr. Bernstein researched uterine growth restriction, its relation to a low protein diet, and its effect on future generations.

He has a special interest in education and is actively involved in the education of pediatric residents at the University of Florida.
