Dr. Louis Blumenfeld specializes in the eye
care needs of children. He also has special training in the treatment of
adults with eye muscle abnormalities including double vision or crossing
eyes. He has a special interest and advanced training in pediatric neuro-ophthalmology.

Dr. Blumenfeld graduated from McGill University, Faculty of Medicine in
Montreal, Canada, receiving his Bachelor of Science, Doctor of Medicine, and
Master of Surgery degrees. After one year of internal medicine training, Dr.
Blumenfeld completed a Fellowship in Eye Movement Disorders at the Wills Eye
Hospital's Foerderer Eye Movement Center for Children in Philadelphia. He
then completed a three year residency at St. Francis Medical Center in
Pittsburgh. There he served as Chief Resident from 1993 – 1994. Among his
accomplishments are a Fellowship in Neuro-Ophthalmology at Wills Eye
Hospital and a Pediatric Ophthalmology Fellowship at University of Miami's
Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.

Dr. Blumenfeld is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, a
Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and a member of the
American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. He is also a
member of the Central Florida Society of Ophthalmology and the Central
Florida Pediatric Society.
Dr.
Blumenfeld has been practicing in Central Florida since 1996 and joined Eye
Physicians of Central Florida in 2003 after spending four years with Nemours
Children's Clinic in Orlando. He is on staff at the Florida Hospitals,
Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and Women, and South Seminole Hospital.
Dr. Blumenfeld has expertise in Eye Muscle Disorders, Double Vision,
Amblyopia - "Lazy Eye", Strabismus - "Crossed Eyes", Lacrimal System
Disorders, Tear Duct Probing, Tear Duct Surgery, and Pediatric Neuro-Ophthalmic
Disorders. |
