After graduating from the Chicago Medical School in 1969, Dr.
Signer completed his surgical internship and residency at Albert Einstein
College of Medicine at Bronx Municipal Hospital in New York. He was then chosen
to be the Robert Garrett Fellow in Pediatric Surgical at John Hopkins Hospital
in Baltimore, Maryland. The following year he was Chief Resident in Pediatric
Surgery also at Johns Hopkins.. He is currently on the
teaching faculty at Orlando Regional Medical Center and is a Clinical Associate
Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Florida.
Dr. Signer is very involved in the medical community on both the state and local
levels. He is the past president of the Florida Association of Pediatric
Surgeons and has served on the Florida Medical Association Council on Specialty
Medicine since 1976. Dr. Signer was the founding Chairman of the Department of
Children’s Surgery at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Women and Children and
currently serves as the Director of Pediatric Surgical Services at Florida
Hospital. He is also the Chairman of the Board and CEO of Florida Children’s
Physicians and Surgeons, Inc. (KIDS’ DOCS) which is a pediatric multispecialty
association. |
